Styling Series: Wall Decor

The goal for this wall was just to create a simple flow that looked cohesive with the flower painting being the focus. If you notice, both the frame and the shelf were made of warm toned wood. We used green sconces to pair with the green in the flower painting, along with the plants and green glass decorating the shelf. Then we brought in touches of pink on the shelf with the terrarium rocks and the knick knack cowboy boot to play off the pink in the flower painting.

Style Tip #1: Take your time and play with your layout and spacing before putting unnecessary holes in your wall.  We decided not to go too high with the sconces so when they were lit there would be a decent amount of light on the painting as well as assuring no soot reached the ceilings.

Style Tip #2: Don’t be afraid of color, whether you’re crossing warm and cool tones or going for a centralized color scheme. Color allows you a full access to the minimalist and maximalist spectrum.
